Hi Dawn,

I thought I’d mention that I linked to you on my blog, thanks so much for sharing this method! I’ve always been intimidated by sushi. No longer!

Also, I asked the sushi chef at our grocery store for a mat, expecting him to sell me one. He didn’t have any for sale so he went into the back room and gave me a plastic style mat (unused) that he uses to make all the store’s sushi. Just thought that was worth mentioning–talk about frugal!!!

Thank you for posting this! I made California Rolls for dinner tonight, well for me because I’m the only one that likes it, and they were fantastic. I haven’t made them in at least six years and needed a kick in the rear. This is so much cheaper than going out!!!!

I’ve even made it without the mat at all, but it’s not as tight. But the end pieces always look like crap anyway; I think that’s why the premarked “cut lines” are a bit “off” on the ends. lol

Where did you find the place mat? It looks perfect!

I almost bought you a sushi kit for Christmas but I thought you had already found something. They had the little kits on their outside clearance shelves at Border’s.
